MEET THE MAKER

Hello. My name is Justin Lebon.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, Calif., where I still live today with my beautiful wife, our two daughters, and three cats.

Before starting my own woodworking business, I worked in the restaurant business for 15 years. I did the whole work-your-way-up thing. from dishwasher, to busser, to server, to bartender, to manager, and then finally to GM for the last 6 years at the beautiful Uncle Yu’s at the Vineyard. It was a lot of fun, and hard work. Often, I would make things for the restaurant on my breaks. But I loved focusing on menu design for creativity too. I think that is where I fell in love with typography, and the feeling a certain type of font can give you. I learned how to focus in on those details during this time. I do miss the food, and a few lovely coworkers.

I’ve always enjoyed woodworking. Ever since I was very young. Tinkering, building , or fixing things is my favorite pastime. Much of what Ive learned came from my father. The man can do it all. I look up to him very much, and its because of that i’ve always had the goal to do woodworking “on the side”. But in March of 2020, while sheltering-in-place, I spent the next 3 months in my garage - working on projects, and playing with the idea of starting my own business. I decided to follow my passion, rather than take the easy way out. Like many, covid-19 provided me a silver lining, a pivot in my life, and I am super grateful for that. I love working with my hands, my mind, and my heart; and putting creative goodness into this world - is my life’s work.

My business is focused on human connection. Creating pieces, or spaces, with intent. It’s my goal to bring joy to your soul through custom woodworking.
